The program of individualized itineraries for socio-labor insertion, financed by the Social Services Management of Castilla y León and the European Social Fund (ESF), is reaching its final stage. In the 2022-2023 academic year, a total of 4 itineraries have been carried out with the participation of 66 people.
The Activa 3 itinerary began its activities in November with 16 participants. They have been trained in basic skills with Spanish classes and are currently completing the professional skills with a course on Maintenance, Cleaning and Organization of the home of dependent persons (UFO126) in which theoretical and practical classes are combined. The profile of the students is of migrant origin, 6 of whom have been recipients of Guaranteed Income of Citizenship. A very diverse group in which the majority are of Moroccan and Bulgarian nationality, as well as Ukrainian, Senegalese and Syrian.
“The evaluation is very positive. In Spanish classes they were divided into two groups according to their level and vocabulary and grammar contents were interspersed, emphasizing the oral part with reading comprehension and written expression,” says Saray, one of the program’s technicians.
The Activa 4 program has provided vocational training in “social and health care for people at home” to 16 participants. They have already finished the theoretical part and are doing the non-working practices in the home help service of the City Council of Valladolid through the company CLECE. Yesterday they went to visit the company “We were received by Estela, from the selection and insertion department” and Ana Rosa, coordinator of the SAD. They explained to us how the service works and the employment opportunities in the home help sector”.
In the two itineraries, during their development, participants have also received training in various areas, such as environmental awareness, equality, personal and digital skills.
“It has been an intense process in which we have done a lot of bonding. Now I am ready and confident of finding a job soon.”
