Graciela is an example of how essential migrants are in Spain. He arrived from Paraguay in 2007, and after much effort, training and work, has received the Honorary Mention of Merit for Citizen Protection of Castilla y León 2022 in recognition of the work done during the Covid-19 pandemic.
In January 2020, after participating in the individualized itineraries project, where she received guidance, training and accompaniment, Graciela began working with CLECE in home help. In March, after the general confinement of the population and the complications that this would have for the care sector, Graciela, with great professionalism, overcoming risk and fear, was committed to the care of infected people at home.
Nowadays she remembers those months with satisfaction of her work, although she continues with the consequences that covid left on her health.
This mention is a recognition of the silent and invisible, but essential work done by many migrants in the home help and care sector. A great value for society.
